Sharva Hampton-Campbell, a native of Louisiana,
resides in Champaign, Illinois with her husband, Marshall, and her
mother, Patricia. She received a Bachelor's and Master's degree
in Social Work from the University of Illinois at ChampaignšUrbana.
Ms. Hampton-Campbell also completed paralegal training at Roosevelt
University and conflict resolution and mediation training from Aurora
University in Chicago, Illinois. She is employed full-time as an
academic advisor at Parkland College and is an independent social
work consultant and counselor. Currently, Ms. Hampton-Campbell is
working on her clinical social work license.
Ms. Hampton-Campbell provides staff development
training and workshops for public and private social service agencies,
as well as youth seminars for churches and community based youth
organizations. She has developed and conducted the following workshops:
"Becoming a Competent Case Manager," "It's all About the Attitude,"
"Engaging African American Youth: A Strength's Perspective," and
"Show Me the Money Financial Planning for Teens." She is also a
Certified Trainer on women's issues, diversity and multiculturalism,
and youth issues. Her latest projects are the development of Sista
Circle, a Christian youth program that focuses on studying the word
of God, giving back to the community and academic excellence, as
well as Youth Empowered for Success (Y.E.S.), a therapeutic mentoring
program for youth aged 11 to 18 years old.
Ms. Hapton-Campbell is a member of The Professional
Woman Network International Advisory Board, and has received national
recognition in Who's Who Among America's Teachers.
